It doesn't matter if you've never heard of the band Radiohead, Leon will take you on a journey tonight! Why is Radiohead, and specifically their album Kid A, etched into the psyche of most Westerners who grew up in the 90s or 2000s? How can music inspire creativity in unexpected ways? How does a song make you feel, and how can that feeling translate into art? In this unique workshop, you don’t need to be an artist or a Radiohead expert to join in—just come with an open mind and a willingness to explore the connections between sound and visual expression.
We’ll listen to tracks from Radiohead's iconic album Kid A, one of the most influential albums of the 21st century, and you'll create your own abstract art based on what the music evokes for you. Leon, your host—a psychologist, musician, and longtime Radiohead fan—will guide you through the experience, sharing insights about the album and the creative process of drawing inspired by music.
Once everyone has created their artwork, you’ll have the chance to share it with the group and explain the emotions or thoughts that led to your creation. Leon will then reveal the title of each song, offering fascinating insights into the band’s original intent and the deeper themes woven into the album. Whether you're a fan of Radiohead, curious about how music can shape our creative minds, ot just curious in general, this workshop will be a fun and engaging way to express yourself, learn something new, and connect with fellow humans. No art experience required—just bring an open mind and a desire to explore how sound can influence the way we see the world!
